The Indian Air Force (IAF) has been authorized to fight back the Naxalites if attacked. So spake Union Home Minister P. Chidamabaram on September 7 (Mail Today)  Confirming that an IAF chopper had come under Naxalite fire a few days ago, the home minister said at Mumbai that the IAF would take "adequate counter measures" against the rebels.
