Editorial: Can Silence Appease Jamiat Ulemas? The Editorial Team
Some renowned gurus and politicians present at Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind conference have chosen to maintain studied silence on some of the controversial fatwas. Apart from endorsing the fatwa issued by Darul Uloom seminary at Deoband decreeing singing of Vande Mataram un-Islamic, there were several other controversial fatwas showing the regressive face of the entire exercise. That is the panacea and pucca road to peace, harmony and goodwill in the country. But it looks some people in India do wish to live in India. They do love their country. They enjoy all the rights and privileges available to its citizens. Yet, they do wish not to be one with their brethren. They wish to give the impression that they are not one among the assemblage, but different fro... Read More >> |

| Maulana Masood Azhar’s Terrorism and Swami Ramdev | Maulana Masood Azhar’s Terrorism and Swami Ramdev
Lt. Col. (Retd.) Mahendra Mathur
While Maulana Masood exhorts Muslims to destroy India, Swami Ramdev praises Muslims for their sacrifices for India's freedom and even advices them to substitute ‘Om' with ‘Allah' while performing Yoga. No wonder, in their turn, Muslims of India issue a fatwa to Muslims not to sing Vande Matram. Hindu swamis are still singing the old song of all religions being equal while Muslims maulanas are out to destroy Hindus! Educating Muslims in spirituality is too important a business to be left to brave politicians like Uddhav Thackeray (who told Muslims, ... Read More >> |
