A Case of Kettle Calling Pot Black
Page 2

Prudence is a great virtue. Think before you speak -- we generally preach but hardly practice in our life.

In politics it is necessary to be very cautious about your words. BJP President Mr. Nitin Gadkari could have been more diplomatic to convey his displeasure at some leaders having betrayed the cause of the opposition and the nation without the use of the words he used. He could have used words, phrases and gestures to make people understand that some leaders did lick the feet without saying it in so many words. But those who have taken offence to his utterances need to peep into their own self. It seems to be a case of the kettle calling the pot black. How good mannered and civilized they are in the use of their language is known to everybody. Numerous times have they used words and phrases which are more offensive and not polite, civilized and decent by any standard. Innumerable times in the past had they to explain, feel sorry and apologise, though at times they do display arrogant intransigence to appear brave in not regretting their words.

Narendra Modi too is an OBC

There are numerous instances to quote. During the Gujarat assembly elections it was the Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi who had used the words "merchant of death" for  Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. More derogatory words and phrases are used against Mr. Modi for the Gujarat riots. Interestingly these very leaders never use similar words in the case of late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi who, as prime minister, had justified the killing of more people in 1984 anti-Sikh riots than were the Muslims and Hindus killed in Gujarat riots. The Congress and the likes of Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav and Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav have taken the Gadkari remarks as an insult of the OBC leaders. But they forget that Mr. Narendra Modi too is an OBC leader. They did not, then, take Mrs. Gandhi's remarks as an insult of the OBC community. Why?

During the last Lok Sabha elections, Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav had threatened that had he been the Union Home Minister he would have moved a road-roller over Mr. Varun Gandhi for what the latter was alleged to have uttered. Was his boast not an insult and a criminal act coming from the mouth of a person who was then holding the office of Railway Minister?

Mr. Lalu Prasad's wife Mrs. Rabri Devi used derogatory remarks against the Bihar Chief Minister Mr. Nitish Kumar which are a matter of criminal investigation and trial. . Where was Mr. Prasad's wits and intelligence then? He never criticized his wife for her utterances. Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife Mrs. Rabri Devi and Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav, perhaps, know that Mr. Nitish Kumar too is an OBC.

Numerous times have our honourable politicians have used, with self-pride, derogatory remarks against BSP supremo and UP Chief Minister Miss Mayawati. She too is a dalit leader besides being a woman.
