Page 1 of 3 Whosoever has the slightest knowledge about the life of the
Prophet of Islam and that of its first four rightly guided caliphs,
knows it well that their day-to-day affair does not reflect a bright
and sublime image of Islam. Although the first caliph Abu
Bakr's death is mysterious, the later three pious caliphs—namely
Omar, Usman and Ali—died to the knives and
swords of assassins. Given that Islam's brightest stars had been
killed by Muslim assassins at its commencement, the religion of
Islam does not reflect a creed of love, compassion and peace; it
does not propagate ever-pure and -eternal message. On the contrary,
it is reflective of a creed of hate, intolerance, terror and
bloodshed. Many great thinkers have expressed the same view about
Islam; many of them even thought that the world would have been a
better place for human living, had the bloody message of the Koran
not been preached to humankind at all.

Muhammad: The Prophet of Islam
Whosoever has the slightest knowledge about the life of the
Prophet of Islam and that of its first four rightly guided caliphs,
knows it well that their day-to-day affair does not reflect a bright
and sublime image of Islam.
While commenting on Islam, the Nobel Laureate poet Rabindranath
Thakur once said,
“When two or three different religions claim that only their
own religions are true and all other religions are false and their
religions are only ways to Heaven. Hence conflicts cannot be
avoided. Thus, fundamentalism tries to abolish all other
religions. This is called Bolshevism in religion. Only the path
shown by the Hinduism can relieve the world from this meanness.”
[Essay “Atma Parichay”].
Had Islam been a religion of peace and compassion, Rabindranath
would never have commented like this. In another occasion, he said,
“There are two religions on the earth, which have distinct
enmity against all other religions. These two are Christianity and
Islam. They are not satisfied with just observing their own
religions, but are determined to destroy all other religions.
That’s why the only way to make peace with them is to embrace
their religion.”
[Complete Works of Rabindranath, Viswabharati University,
1982, Vol. 24:375, translated from Bengali by the author]
He also said,
“The Muslims are united in religion and rituals. The Bengali
Muslims, the South Indian Muslims and even the Muslims outside
India – all are united. They always stand united in the face of
danger. The broken and divided Hindus will not be able to combat
them. Days are coming when the Hindus will be again humiliated by
the Muslims.” [A letter to Hemantabala Sarkar, 16th Oct. 1933,
quoted in Bengali weekly “Swastika”, June 21, 1999]
Rabindranath further observed,
“A very important factor which is making it almost impossible
for Hindu-Muslim unity to become an accomplished fact is that the
Muslim can not confine their patriotism to any one country. I had
frankly asked the Muslims whether in the event of any Mohammedan
power invading India, would they (Muslims) stand side by side with
their Hindu neighbors to defend their common land or join the
invaders. I was not satisfied with the reply I have obtained from
them…Even such a man as Mr. Mohammed Ali (leaders of the in India) has declared that under no
circumstances is it permissible for any Mohammedan, whatever be
his country, to stand against any Mohammedan”. [Interview of
Rabindranath, Times of India, 18 April 1924, in the column
“Through Indian Eyes.”]
Khilafat Movement
Undoubtedly, Rabindranath, while being truly secular, was also
great patriot and an honest man; he, therefore, did not hesitate
represent Islam in its true color. But many dishonest people in the
pseudo-secularist Indian media and the monks of R K Mission are
trying to sell a hyena as an innocent lamb; they try hard to hide
the violent foundations and bloody history of Islam and project it
as a great religion of love, compassion and humanity. Islam is such
as poisonous snake that it will come back to bite these
pseudo-secular pimps of Islam real hard; they, along with the entire
Indian nation, will have to pay a heavy price for their treacherous,
deceptive portrayal of Islam in due course of time.
