Today the humanity is facing a great danger. Islamic fundamentalism is on the rise and the hatred is brewing in the minds of millions of Muslims. This hatred must be contained or there would be disastrous consequences. Education is the only answer. Muslim intellectuals must realize that Islam is a false doctrine and they must let the rest of Islamic world know the truth. Islam is a religion that thrives on the arrogant assumption that it is the most logical, the most scientific and the most perfect religion. While the fact is that it is the stupidest doctrine - the most backward and absurd belief. Once the truth about Islam becomes common knowledge, it will be weakened and the Islamic fanaticism will lose its fangs. Loads of money is being expended to combat Islamic terrorism, yet no effort is made to contain the ideology behind this terrorism. Islamic terrorism will not be eliminated unless and until the ideology behind it is exposed and eradicated.

What kind of person would willingly pick up a fist-sized stone from a pile in a public place and throw it at the head of the victim who has been buried neck-deep? What does it take to look at a helpless person before releasing the missile and seeing it crunch against a human skull? Can anybody undertake this cold-blooded act voluntarily and still claim to be a civilized human being?

Dawn reports the Bangladesh High Court has abolished all physical punishments based on the scriptures. Thus, people will no longer be sentenced to lashing, chopping off their hands, or stoning to death. This should be followed by abolition of punishment to those who leave Islam. And acceptance of those, who do not believe in Mohammed as a prophet, as equals.

Bangladesh has a horrible record of treating the minorities - the Hindus have dwindles from 22% to 9% of the population. Fighting and killing for the sake of spreading Islam and suppressing other religions and jihad should be made taboo. From Pakistan comes a sickening account of a Christian whose wife and four children were killed last month in Jhelum. Apparently, Jamshed Masih, a Christian policeman, was told to move from the predominantly Muslim colony where he and his family lived. Before the attack, Masih's 11-year old son went to a local shop, and was refused service on the grounds that he was a non-Muslim. On his return, locals led by Maulana Mahfooz Khan entered the house, asserting that the boy had committed blasphemy and must be punished. Mrs Masih pleaded with the mob, and asked them to wait until her husband returned, but somebody threw an object at her head. Her daughter managed to call her father, but by the time he returned, his family had all been massacred.

Love Jihad - converting men and women to Islam by seducing and marrying young people of other faiths - should be opposed by society with full force till it ceases. In a court of law evidence of a woman should be given the same weight as a man. And it should be forbidden to marry orphaned girls on the pretext of taking care of them (Orphanages can take care of them or they can be adopted). Nor it should be permitted to "marry (other) women of your choice, two or three, or four". The barbaric permission to beat the wives definitely needs to be prohibited.
