Remember Saurabh Kaalia
Aneeta Chakrabarty
The six soldiers plodded through treacherous terrain and biting cold, their eyes scanning the bleak landscape for intruders. The blinding snow and fierce winds thwarted their earlier attempts but today the weather cooperated and they were trying very hard to reach their goal, the strategically important Bajrang Post. After a hard trek through the white, eerie and somber landscape, they were almost within reach of this vital post, when all of sudden, they ran into ... Read More >> |

Spirituality and New Paradigm for Management Sharda Nandram
With the all too apparent changes in the climate and onset of economic and ecological disasters that are directly and indirectly related to business, can we truly say that any aspect of the current corporate model is truly healthy or sustainable? The elderly Gandhian leader died shortly thereafter in near-penury after leading a long ascetic life. The ramrod straight Congress leader of yesteryear used to wash his own clothes and cook his own meals till he was too o... Read More >> |

| Hubris of Darul Uloom | Hubris of Darul Uloom
Ram Kumar Ohri
Darul Uloom has done it again. By issuing a Fatwa, loaded with fundamentalist frenzy, the seminary has reiterated its earlier stand that singing of the national song, Vande Matram, by Muslims is ‘haram'. Obviously the Deoband Ulema have openly expressed utter contempt for the majesty of India's Constitution and delivered a body blow to the ideal of national integration. The timing of the ‘fatwa' has surprised everyone, especially when the stand of the Ulema had been known now for several years. Apparently the provocation for spewing hatred against ... Read More >> |
